Hill’s Pet Nutrition Celebrates 15 Million Pet Adoptions and Partners with Kitten Advocate Hannah Shaw to Support Animal Welfare
Milestone Marks New Collaboration with “Kitten Lady” Hannah Shaw to Champion Kitten Care and Animal Shelter Initiatives
Hill’s Pet Nutrition has reached a remarkable milestone—15 million pet adoptions supported through its Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love Program since 2002. As a leading partner in animal welfare, Hill’s has provided over $300 million in science-led nutrition to shelters across North America, helping pets become healthier and more adoptable. To further support vulnerable animals, Hill’s is partnering with Hannah Shaw, better known as “Kitten Lady,” a renowned kitten rescuer, humane educator, and bestselling author, to bring focused attention to the unique needs of shelter kittens.
“This milestone reflects the power of partnership with animal welfare professionals and the millions of pet parents who open their homes to shelter pets,” said Yvonne Hsu, US President and General Manager at Hill’s Pet Nutrition. “We’re committed to expanding our efforts for even greater impact.”
The Power of Partnerships: Hill’s and Kitten Lady Hannah Shaw
Through this collaboration, Hill’s and Shaw will drive initiatives to increase awareness around kitten care, particularly for the most vulnerable animals in shelters. Shaw, whose Kitten Lady project offers educational resources and workshops, has dedicated her career to protecting kittens through innovative care techniques and fostering. Together, Hill’s and Shaw will advocate for lifesaving fostering initiatives, providing shelters with essential resources to help kittens grow into thriving, adoptable pets.
“Collaborating with Hill’s allows us to make a lasting impact for animals, especially the most vulnerable,” said Shaw. “We’re excited to launch educational programs that ensure kittens receive the love, care, and nutrition they deserve.”
Educational Campaigns and “Cats of the World” Book Tour
To kick off the partnership, Hill’s is joining Shaw on her new book tour for Cats of the World, which highlights her global journey with photographer Andrew Marttila, capturing stories and images of cats from 30 countries. This tour provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the importance of adoption and fostering, while also showcasing the diversity and resilience of cats around the world.
Expanding Support for Shelters Nationwide
Hill’s Food, Shelter & Love Program has also provided over 1.5 million pounds of pet food to shelter-owned food pantries and community food banks over the past four years. This ongoing support addresses shelter overcrowding, ensuring more animals receive the care and nutrition they need. Hill’s partnership with Shaw will bring additional educational resources and foster support to shelter professionals nationwide, working together to create positive outcomes for pets awaiting adoption.
Hill’s Pet Nutrition and Hannah Shaw’s partnership marks a new chapter in animal welfare, combining expertise and compassion to make a lasting difference for vulnerable pets.
