Quarantine is better with dogs during COVID-19

Around the world, we have seen the negative psychological impacts of Covid-19 from social distancing to social isolation. Lack of socialization can lead to loneliness, boredom, and increase the risk of developing anxiety and depression. The knight in shining armor that always comes to our rescue is dogs. Our ability to connect with them is just as strong, or stronger than human to human interactions. This qualitative research study used an online survey in the initial months of Covid-19 of 4105 individuals to thoughts, experiences and concerns surrounding this time frame. Among the results in the survery included a high appreciation for the human-animal bond, and the impact animals and dogs can have on supporting our mental and physical health.
