This study looked at the metabolic impact of variations in the insulin response and bodyweight during repeated oral glucose tests. A total of nineteen Icelandic horses were given five oral glucose tests over the course of a year while their bodyweight and metabolic responses were monitored. An increased activation of arginase was associated with weight gain as well as pathways consistent with the expected effect of glucose in insulin, respectively.
