Get fit on a budget
Fabulous muscles and six pack abs doesn't necessarily have to mean spending big bucks at the gym. If you want to look great and feel your best, there's plenty of things you can do without a certified nutritionist, a wellness coach, and a personal fitness trainer. In fact, you can work up a sweat in no time without having to spend any additional money at all (at least, beyond the internet connection you're currently using.)
If you want to stay fit and healthy, but don't want to spend a lot of money on it, here are 3 great options for you.
YouTube
There are tons of great fitness workouts on YouTube. These range from yoga lessons to dancing, to weight lifting, and even give advice on some of the more fun and unusual sports out there. If you don't have any equipment at all, you can look up body calesthenics that will keep you in shape with nothing more than the weight of your own body.
YouTube is free, and best of all, you can follow along in the privacy of your own home. No need to worry about judging eyes as you struggle to lift a 5 pound dumbbell.
The Great Outdoors
You don't need a treadmill or stationary bike in order to get moving. You can just as easily get going by stepping outside your own front door. Outdoor activity has been proven to relieve stress, plus you'll burn more calories than you would on a treadmill or stationary bike. Even the best workout program on the treadmill or stationary bike will be easier compared to a similar workout outside, because you don't have air resistance when you're moving in place.e
You can even save serious cash by biking or walking to work instead of driving. If it's too far to go round trip, but not too far in one direction, you can even try switching off: Drive there and bike back, and then bike back the next day and drive home. Cutting your expenses in half, or even getting rid of the car completely, can save a lot of money over time as well as getting much fitter.
Meetup.com
If you crave the social side of the gym but don't want to pay for the interaction, looking for fitness groups on meetup.com may be the right answer. Meetup is designed to help you find other people with similar interests, in the same way you might use a dating app, but without the romance.
So if you want to lose that mommy tummy but don't want to be the only mommy, you can look for a mom and me fitness group, and know when you go it will only be moms.
Meetup is also great for finding other people who are interested in the same sports, such as for a pickup basketball game, or just a walking buddy.
There are tons of options for getting fit out there, and many of the best options are free. If you're worried about the price of fitness, don't let it stop you. You can have your fun and save money all at the same time.
