How to have a balanced life
In order to be successful, it feels like you need to have a 48 hour day. If you want to have it all you need to burn the candle at both ends at work, go home and spend 12 hours cleaning and organizing every last corner of your house, while also finding time for every possible craft and event with the kids.
Unfortunately we are limited to 24 hours a day, and at least 8 of those hours should be taken up by sleep. That means your focus shouldn't be figured out how to get by on just 2 hours a night, but instead finding a way to balance yourself. Here are a couple of tips.
Keep a Schedule
Just like you need to budget your money in order to live within your means, you also need to budget your time. You can help do that by creating a schedule and balancing how much time you spend on each project. When you have finished time for work or for cleaning, stop what you are doing and move on to the next thing. This way work and chores won't consume your life, leaving you free to do the fun stuff too.
“Good enough” is okay
Social media often makes us think that everyone carefully arranges their desk drawers like artwork, fold their socks, and whip out gourmet meals every day. This is not true. Look in any drawer 5 minutes after that social media photo is taken and the toddler has already destroyed it and left it a jumbled mess.
Release yourself from these standards. You don't have to live like the pictures in a catalog. Good enough is fine.Balance can be difficult, but by learning to budget your time and releasing yourself from perfection, you can find room for work, chores, and hobbies too.
