How to ease anxiety

Anxiety is an emotion everyone feels from time to time. It stems from our body's stress response, and as long as it doesn't occur all of the time, is a normal part of our lives. No matter how natural anxiety might be however, it's not a comfortable feeling. Here are 3 ways you can ease your anxiety and get back to feeling normal again.

 Limit Alcohol and Caffeine

If your feeling stressed, chances are you're using ample amounts of both to cope. Although caffeine may give you a quick boost to get you through the day, and alcohol may make you feel more relaxed at night, they may also increase your anxiety. Limit your intake to help ease your anxiety.

Get Enough Sleep

New research indicates that lack of sleep may actually be a cause of anxiety disorder. Make getting 8 hours of quality sleep your priority in order to stave off anxiety. That means no caffeine in the evening, cutting screen use a couple hours before bed, and setting a regular bedtime for yourself. If you have trouble sleeping, fish oil and melatonin can be helpful supplements to make rest easy naturally.

Exercise Daily

There are numerous benefits to exercise, and one of them is how it helps mental health disorders. Even if your anxiety hasn't crossed the line into a disorder, exercise can still boost your mood, make you feel great about yourself, and reduce your stress. Even if you come in not feeling any better, at least you know you're that much healthier and fitter for the workout.

 Anxiety can be crippling at its worst, and is uncomfortable at its best. Instead of stressing over your anxiety, use these tips to help reduce symptoms of anxiety so you can feel more like yourself again as soon as possible.
