Be honest
It's best to be up front with the person that you're with that dating you is a package deal. If they're the right person for you, they will be cool with kids. If they aren't the right person, it's going to be that much harder to say good-bye to them when they find out.
Don't talk about the kids all the time
Once your potential partner knows about the kids, don't spend all your time talking about them. These dates are for you. You already do so much for your children. Give yourself a chance to relax and be free.
Do update your kids
Children often have mixed emotions about their parents dating someone new. Let them know how this person fits in their life, but also let them know that who you are dating is something you need in order to be happy.
Dating with children is more complicated than dating when you're single. Don't let that stop you. You can still find a partner who has enough room in their heart for you and your children.
