Mini Schnauzer Health Study Released
A recent study in the UK examined health data of 3857 Miniature Schnauzers from over 300 clinics with an aim to understand common health problems of the breed.
Mean adult bodyweight overall was 9.9 kg
Median longevity was 11.6 years
The most common disorders recorded were periodontal disease, obesity/overweight, anal sac impaction, vomiting, and otitis externa.
Awareness of common diseases and breed predispositions can support evidence-based policies to improve breed health and guide veterinarians when producing differential diagnosis lists.
