From Doubt to Triumph: Building a Luxury Veterinary Clinic
Dr. Jen’s journey is one of resilience, innovation, and dreaming big. A graduate of St. George University, she co-founded Vetique Chicago, a luxury veterinary clinic located on Chicago’s Gold Coast. But her path to success wasn’t without challenges. Early in her career, she was told she couldn’t succeed as a practice owner. Instead of letting those words define her, Dr. Jen used them as fuel to prove the naysayers wrong.
Today, Vetique Chicago is a thriving practice that combines cutting-edge medicine with a spa-like experience for pets and their owners. Dr. Jen’s vision was to create a space where pets receive the highest standard of care while their owners feel pampered and supported. From state-of-the-art facilities to personalized treatment plans, Vetique Chicago is setting a new standard for veterinary care.
Adrenaline Junkie: Finding Balance in Extreme Sports
When she’s not running her practice, Dr. Jen is an adrenaline junkie who thrives on adventure. She’s climbed mountains, skydived, and even completed Tough Mudder races. For Dr. Jen, extreme sports are more than just a hobby—they’re a way to find balance and recharge.
“Veterinary medicine can be incredibly demanding, both physically and emotionally,” she says. “For me, pushing my limits in sports helps me stay grounded and reminds me that I’m capable of overcoming any challenge.”
Her love for adventure has also inspired her to think outside the box in her practice. Whether it’s incorporating holistic therapies or exploring new ways to reduce stress for her patients, Dr. Jen is always looking for innovative ways to improve care.
Real Talk: Educating and Empowering the Veterinary Community
Dr. Jen is also a co-host of Real Talk, a Vet Candy show she created with her best friend, Dr. Jess Trice. The duo provides free RACE-approved CE for veterinarians, vet techs, and practice owners, all while keeping it real and relatable.
“We wanted to create a space where veterinarians could learn, grow, and connect without feeling judged or overwhelmed,” Dr. Jen explains. “Real Talk is about sharing our experiences, both the highs and the lows, and helping others navigate the challenges of this profession.”
The show has become a go-to resource for veterinary professionals, offering practical advice, emotional support, and a sense of community.
A Trailblazer for the Next Generation
Dr. Jen’s story is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and purpose. She’s not just redefining veterinary care—she’s also inspiring the next generation of veterinarians to dream big and chase their goals.
“I want young veterinarians to know that they don’t have to fit into a mold,” she says. “You can be a practice owner, an adventurer, a mentor, and so much more. The possibilities are endless if you’re willing to work hard and believe in yourself.”
