California Vet Dr. Evan Antin Escapes California Wildfires: “God bless our firefighters, the real life superheroes”

Dr. Evan Antin, the California-based veterinarian and global conservationist known for his work with exotic animals and his social media presence, recently faced a harrowing reality: fleeing his home as wildfires ravaged the region.

Antin, who is beloved by millions of followers for his dedication to wildlife and conservation, shared his firsthand experience of the evacuation on his social media, giving a glimpse into the chaos and emotion of leaving everything behind.

Antin’s home is located in one of the many areas in California hit hard by the raging wildfires that have displaced thousands of residents. The veterinarian described the panic of gathering his animals—ranging from his beloved cat and dog to some of the exotic pets he cares for—and ensuring their safety amid the uncertainty.

Despite the personal toll, Antin used his platform to advocate for wildfire preparedness and the importance of protecting both people and animals in emergencies. He also emphasized the impact of climate change on the increasing intensity of wildfires.

While temporarily displaced, he is also encouraged his followers to donate to local shelters and organizations working on the front lines to provide refuge for pets and wildlife caught in the disaster.
