The tale of Jim and Marilyn Hennegan, pioneers of this legacy, began with a serendipitous encounter at Hanover College. United by their passion for veterinary medicine, they embarked on a journey to make a difference in animals' lives. Jim's dream materialized in 1965 with the opening of Briarwood Animal Clinic in Indianapolis, laying the groundwork for exceptional veterinary care.

As Jim tended to the clinic, Marilyn's role as a bookkeeper solidified the family's dedication to animal welfare. Their daughters, Kathy and June, absorbed these values from a young age, steeping themselves in compassion and empathy for all creatures.

June reminisces, "That’s how we grew up," while Kathy reflects, "It was the way of life for us."

Jim's support for Morris Animal Foundation inspired Kathy and June to champion veterinary science. Their donation towards pioneering research at Morris Animal Foundation seeks to revolutionize the early detection and treatment of canine cancer, honoring their parents' legacy.

With each milestone achieved, Kathy and June honor Jim and Marilyn's memory, ensuring their legacy of love for animals shines bright.
