The Vets and BetterVet Merge to Revolutionize Pet Care with Nationwide At-Home Services

Newly Unified Company Expands to Over 30 U.S. Cities, Bringing Advanced, Convenient Pet Care to Thousands More Homes

The Vets, founded in 2021 by Daniel Sagis, Dori Fussmann, and Shmuel Chafets, has quickly transformed pet healthcare by offering at-home veterinary services powered by advanced technology. Now, in a game-changing merger with BetterVet, the company is set to expand its reach and elevate the U.S. pet care industry, valued at $123 billion and serving 85 million pets across 70% of U.S. households.

Operating under The Vets brand, the merged entity is dedicated to providing pet owners with broader access to at-home services and pioneering veterinary innovations. Lead investors Shmuel Chafets of Target Global and Dr. Pete Hudson of Alta Partners, along with other existing investors, have committed additional funds to accelerate growth and expand the company's footprint to over 30 major U.S. cities.

A New Era of Accessible, Compassionate Pet Care

The merger brings together over 80 veterinary teams who have already treated more than 250,000 pets in their homes, and with the expanded coverage, even more families will have access to high-quality, in-home care. By providing compassionate, convenient services directly to pet owners, The Vets is meeting the growing demand for accessible veterinary care.

"We are excited to team up with BetterVet and further cement our position as market leaders," said Esben Mou, the new CEO of The Vets. "Together, we’ll expand our reach and bring our services to more pet owners across the country, committed to revolutionizing pet healthcare by making it more accessible and top-quality."

Investors Drive the Vision for Growth and Innovation

This merger, supported by a strengthened investment from Target Global and Alta Partners, positions The Vets as a trailblazer in at-home pet care. Dan Adams, Chairman of the Board, stated, “This merger aligns perfectly with our vision of extending access to patient care. With our combined strengths, we're not only delivering exceptional care but also pushing the boundaries of what's possible in veterinary medicine in terms of convenience and quality.”

By joining forces, The Vets and BetterVet are set to redefine pet healthcare, making at-home veterinary care an accessible and convenient option for more pet owners than ever before.
