Petfolk Secures $36M Investment to Revolutionize Veterinary Care with “Connected Care” Model

Discover How Petfolk’s Tech-Driven, Community-Focused Approach is Transforming the Veterinary Industry

Petfolk, a trailblazer in veterinary and urgent care, recently closed a $36 million Series C funding round led by Deerfield Management, with continued support from investors like Movendo Capital, White Star Capital, Cutting Horse VC, Idea Farm Ventures, and Parkview International. This investment will fuel Petfolk’s expansion, bringing its innovative “connected care” model to more communities nationwide.

A New Era in Veterinary Care

Founded and led by Dr. Audrey Wystrach, DVM, Petfolk integrates modern facilities with 24/7 app-based virtual care, reshaping veterinary care to prioritize convenience, accessibility, and high-quality treatment for today’s pet parents. With a focus on providing exceptional care through digital tools and in-person support, Petfolk is bridging the gap between traditional veterinary services and the modern needs of pet families. This approach has earned Petfolk a spot on Newsweek's 2024 list of Global Most Loved Workplaces, ranking in the top five.

“Our team is committed to creating a better experience for everyone involved in the veterinary care journey,” said Dr. Wystrach. “As we grow, Deerfield’s partnership is invaluable given their focus on supporting healthcare companies that drive innovation and elevate standards of care.”

Investing in a Culture of Care for Veterinary Professionals

Petfolk’s purpose-built model doesn’t only serve pet parents; it also supports veterinarians with ongoing training, professional growth opportunities, and a community-centered workplace culture. Petfolk’s commitment to employee well-being and development is integral to its model, fostering an environment where veterinarians can thrive. This emphasis on support is part of what attracted Deerfield Management to invest in Petfolk.

“Veterinary medicine is evolving,” said Kevin Berg, Senior Advisor at Deerfield. “Pet parents want accessible, high-quality care, and veterinarians seek workplaces that prioritize culture and growth. Petfolk’s model aligns with both, raising the standard for veterinary care.”

Expansion Across Major Markets

With 19 clinics currently operating across seven key markets—including Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, Orlando, Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio—Petfolk is on track to double its presence. New clinics are set to open soon in Miami, Phoenix, and additional major metro areas, with plans to reach approximately 40 clinics in over 10 markets by the end of 2025.

A Future Focused on Connected Veterinary Care

As Petfolk continues its expansion, the company is poised to redefine what pet care can look like for both clients and veterinarians. Their “connected care” model is setting a new standard for convenience and reliability in veterinary services, all while fostering an environment where veterinary professionals can flourish.
