Anti-body evaluation of a dog and her pups positive with C6 antibody against Lyme infection

B.burgdorferi is responsible for tick-delivered Lyme infection.A study was conducted to examine a pregnant Rottweiler's antibody profileand her pups being C6 Ab positive against Bb. In this case, a dam was presented to the clinic about twelve days before parturition with signs of lameness and was positive with C6 antibody having 237U/ml concentration. Her treatment was instigated with amoxicillin, and after 11 days of treatment, she gave birth to nine pups. Sera screening of pups and dam for cell lysates of B.burgdorferiwas done, which revealed the same profiles of theimmunoreactivity. Antigen preciseIgM and IgG reactivity prevailed for seven months in the dam, while a sudden decrease in IgG concentration wasspecific for BBK53, BB0238,BBA36, and BBA37 were observed in pups after 29 to 52 of parturition.

Onthe contrary, antibody concentration-specific against DbpAand diagnostic Ag ( OspF and C6 ) stayed boosted in pups. Sera of dam showed complement restrictedbactericidal effect against Borellia.burgdorferi while sera of pups showed similar effectsby compliment unrestrictedmechanism. However, this study is based on a single case but provides information about profiles of maternal Abs and helps to interpret the serology assays delivered by Borellia burgdorferi C6 antibody effective dogs.
